Buses

Service 117 runs between Lockerbie, Hightae and Dumfries, operated by McCalls Coaches. The bus stops in Hightae village – check the shelter by the war memorial for the latest timetable. Services run Monday to Saturday, with some journeys on Tuesdays and Saturdays going all the way to Dumfries.

Taxis

A handful of local taxi firms operate from Lockerbie, about five miles away. PA Taxis is a popular choice for the area and accepts D&G Council taxi vouchers. Useful for evenings, airport runs or when the bus doesn’t suit.

Trains

The nearest station is Lockerbie on the West Coast Main Line. Regular ScotRail services to Carlisle, Glasgow, Edinburgh and beyond. Lockerbie is a quick taxi or drive from Hightae. Dumfries station is further but handy for some routes.
