Walks & Outdoors
Plenty of great routes right on the doorstep – from short loops to longer riverside rambles. All the walks are circular so you can start and finish wherever suits you. I’ve put them on an interactive map below so you can see exactly where they go.
Before you head out
Walking time
Most routes take 1.5–2 hours. The short Hightae and the Meadow loop is about 30 minutes.
Underfoot
Rural tracks can be muddy after rain. Some sections are rough – sturdy footwear is a good idea.

- • Guard against all risk of fire.
- • Fasten all gates.
- • Keep dogs under close control.
- • Keep to public paths across farmland, or go round the edge of the field.
- • Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls.
- • Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone.
- • Take your litter home.
- • Help to keep all water clean.
- • Protect wildlife, plants and trees.
- • Take special care on country roads.
- • Make no unnecessary noise.
