Here’s a straightforward guide to the main utilities serving Hightae, Heck, Greenhill and Smallholm. We’ve put together the key details for each one below.

Broadband

Broadband in the Royal Four Towns runs over the Openreach network from the Lockerbie exchange. Most homes already have superfast broadband, and Full Fibre is steadily being rolled out street by street through the R100 programme.

Electricity

SP Energy Networks looks after the local electricity network. You can choose any supplier you like and there are often decent savings to be made by shopping around on different tariffs.

Gas

This section is under development. We’ll have information on gas supply options and suppliers for homes in Hightae and the surrounding villages here soon. Check back in the coming weeks.

Oil

This section is under development. We’ll be adding details on heating oil suppliers, delivery services and tips for the Royal Four Towns area shortly.

Water & Sewerage

Drinking water comes from Scottish Water’s Black Esk zone and sewerage charges are added to your Council Tax bill. Water quality in the area is very good and the vast majority of homes are on the public mains.
